Determination of cardiac troponin I, the preferred biomarker for myocardial infarction
Severe chest pain, possibly accompanied by shortness of breath, may be a sign of myocardial infarction or angina pectoris. Rapid and reliable diagnostics are offered – in addition to an ECG – by the determination of cardiac troponin (cardiac troponin I). PreventID® Cardiac Troponin I has a detection limit of 0.5 ng/ml.
As soon as damage or injury to the heart occurs, troponin I is released into the blood approximately 3–5 hours after the onset of pain.
