Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement according to the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG)

Please note that the German version of this statement is legally binding. This English version is a translation and was created to make the information accessible for international users.

Date of Statement

April 1, 2025

Preventis GmbH distributes in-vitro diagnostics that enable individuals and healthcare professionals to take control of their health in everyday life. This statement applies to all digital platforms of Preventis GmbH – including the website www.preventis.com, the Preventis online shop, user-specific web portals, and mobile applications that allow quantitative analysis of certain tests.

Our Commitment to Digital Accessibility

Preventis GmbH is committed to making its digital services accessible – in accordance with the German Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act (BGG), the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), and EU Directive 2016/2102.

Compliance Status

Our digital platforms are partially compliant with the requirements of BITV 2.0. We are continuously working to identify and eliminate existing barriers.

Non-accessible Content

Older PDF documents

These documents were created before current accessibility standards and lack semantic structure, bookmarks, alternative text, and searchable text. A transition to accessible HTML versions is planned.

Missing or insufficient alternative text for images

Not all images have descriptive alternative texts (“alt tags”), which are essential for screen reader users. Some texts are too generic or incomplete and will be revised.

Videos without subtitles or audio descriptions

Some informational videos (e.g., product explainers) currently lack subtitles or audio descriptions. We plan to equip all new videos accordingly and retrofit existing ones.

Limited keyboard operability of individual elements

Interactive components such as dropdowns or modal dialogs are not fully operable via keyboard. Improvements are underway.

Screen reader compatibility in mobile apps not fully optimized

Although our apps support screen readers (e.g., VoiceOver), some navigation paths and labels are missing or unclear. Enhancements are part of our app development.

Unspecified color contrasts

Some text/background combinations do not meet the WCAG 2.1 contrast ratio of 4.5:1. A new color concept is being developed.

Missing content in Easy Language and German Sign Language (DGS)

Currently, we do not offer content in Easy Language or DGS. We are evaluating where this could be sensibly introduced.

Reasons for Existing Barriers

Some barriers result from content published before the legal requirements came into force. Fully implementing all standards at short notice would pose an unreasonable burden under § 12a BGG.

Accessible Alternatives

Key information from non-accessible PDFs is gradually being made available in accessible HTML formats. All content is also available via phone or in writing through our service team. We are evaluating additional content in Easy Language and German Sign Language.

Method of Evaluation

Accessibility was assessed using a combination of internal self-evaluation and automated testing tools, including the Online Accessibility Checker: www.accessibilitychecker.org
Last review: March 2025.
